According to police officials, the brothers were among key suspects being pursued in connection with the murder of a local businessman earlier this week. Authorities received intelligence about their movements, prompting coordinated operations in the Doiwala and Ladpur neighborhoods.

Eyewitnesses reported that both encounters involved gunfire exchanged between the suspects and police, though no officers were injured. Raju and Pankaj sustained injuries during the confrontations and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The condition of both brothers is being closely monitored.

Senior police officials confirmed that the encounters were carried out following proper protocols, and that the suspects attempted to resist arrest. The recovered weapons and other evidence from the scenes are currently being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

The killing of the businessman had caused widespread concern in Dehradun, with local residents demanding swift action against those responsible. Police have assured the public that all leads are being pursued rigorously, and that further arrests may follow as the investigation progresses.

Officials also emphasized that such encounters are rare and are conducted only when suspects pose an immediate threat to law enforcement personnel or the public.

The investigation continues, and authorities are expected to provide updates once the brothers’ medical conditions stabilize and further interrogations are conducted.
