Snake Venom Case

Allegations of Snake Venom Use

According to police, the case pertains to an alleged rave party where snake venom was reportedly arranged and used as a recreational substance. Investigators claimed that snakes were brought to the venue and venom was extracted and supplied during the event.

Authorities registered a case under provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, among other relevant sections.

Court’s Strong Observation

During the hearing, the court expressed concern over the alleged actions of the accused, stating that such conduct promotes dangerous behaviour and could negatively influence young audiences. The judge reportedly observed that public figures and social media influencers carry responsibility due to their reach and impact.

The court’s remarks underscored the seriousness of wildlife-related offences and the potential harm caused by glamorising unlawful or hazardous activities.

Arrest and Investigation

The YouTuber was initially booked in November 2023 following a police probe into the party. After months of investigation, he was arrested on March 17, 2024. Officials said evidence collected during the inquiry led to his custodial interrogation.

Police had earlier stated that several individuals were questioned in connection with the event and that forensic analysis was conducted to verify the presence of venom and other substances.

Wider Implications

The case has sparked widespread debate about influencer accountability, illegal wildlife trade, and the regulation of private events. Animal rights groups have also called for strict enforcement of wildlife protection laws to deter similar incidents.

As the investigation continues, authorities maintain that action will be taken based on evidence and legal provisions. The case remains under judicial consideration, with further hearings expected in the coming weeks.
