Pramod Sawant on Thursday criticised the protest staged by the Indian Youth Congress during the recent AI Summit in Goa, calling it an act of “political recklessness” that tarnished India’s image on an international platform.

🏛️ CM’s Strong Reaction
Addressing reporters, Sawant said the disruption at a global technology event sent the wrong message to international delegates and investors.
“When the world is looking at India as a rising technology hub, such protests damage the country’s reputation. Political differences should not be displayed at international forums,” he said.
The Chief Minister added that the AI Summit was aimed at showcasing India’s advancements in artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital infrastructure, and that the protest overshadowed the event’s core objectives.
🤖 What Happened at the AI Summit?
Members of the Youth Congress reportedly staged a demonstration outside the summit venue, raising slogans and highlighting various issues. While the protest remained largely peaceful, security personnel had to intervene to prevent disruptions near the main event area.
Police officials ensured that the summit proceedings continued without interruption, and no major law and order situation was reported.
⚖️ ‘Political Recklessness’
Sawant termed the protest “misplaced” and accused the opposition’s youth wing of attempting to gain publicity at the cost of the country’s global standing.
